Oil & Gas and Industrial Extraction — Are You in Scope?

Oil field and oil & gas environments — what's in scope and what isn't

Oil & gas, oil fields, and industrial extraction environments

We get inquiries about robot deployment in oil fields and oil & gas facilities. It's worth being direct about this:

Oil field and oil & gas environments are not one of our two standard deployment verticals. Our verticals are warehouse automation and security robots for industrial and commercial facilities.

Why this matters

Oil field environments involve specific hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx zones), extreme temperatures, explosive atmospheres, and highly specialized safety requirements. Deploying autonomous robots in those environments requires hardware certification and operational frameworks well beyond our current scope.

What is potentially in scope

If your oil & gas operation includes:

  • A warehouse or storage facility on site that needs autonomous material handling

  • A perimeter security requirement for the facility's non-hazardous areas — offices, vehicle yards, administrative zones

...then those specific parts of your operation could be within scope for our standard deployment methodology. We'd assess the environment carefully and be clear about what we can and can't take on.

If your use case is specifically oil field automation

We're probably not the right fit right now. If you want to reach out anyway and describe your use case, we'll tell you honestly: [email protected]
