What security robots actually do
Security robots deployed by Helpforce AI are purpose-built for autonomous patrol, detection, and alert. Here's a clear breakdown:
Autonomous patrol
The robot follows defined patrol routes at configured intervals — continuously, without breaks, without fatigue. Routes are programmed during the simulation phase and adapted to your specific facility layout. Indoor and outdoor-capable units are available depending on your environment.
Intruder and anomaly detection
Using a combination of cameras, thermal sensors (on select units), and motion detection, the robot identifies humans, vehicles, or objects that shouldn't be in a given area during specified hours. When something is flagged, an alert is sent to your security operations team in real time.
Live video feed
Your security team can access a live video stream from the robot on demand — useful for remotely assessing a situation before sending a human responder.
Perimeter and interior coverage
Robots can be configured for perimeter patrol, interior monitoring, or both — depending on the unit type and your facility's requirements.
Logging and audit trail
Every patrol is time-stamped and logged. Video footage is recorded and retrievable. This creates a full audit trail that human guard rounds simply cannot replicate consistently.
What security robots cannot do
Being clear about limitations is important:
Physical intervention — Robots do not restrain, confront, or physically engage with intruders. They detect and alert. Human response is still required for any physical security action.
Legal authority — Robots have no security officer legal standing. They are detection and alert tools.
Access control decisions — Robots don't open or lock doors, issue entry clearances, or make access judgment calls. Those remain human or integrated with your existing access control systems.
Stairs (most units) — Most patrol robots are ground-level only. Multi-floor coverage requires either elevator-integrated units or separate per-floor deployments. We'll assess this during the walkthrough.
The right way to think about it
A security robot doesn't replace your security team. It makes them more effective — extending their reach, eliminating repetitive patrols, and ensuring nothing is missed because a guard was tired, distracted, or in the wrong part of the building. Your team responds to what the robot finds.
